Something I’ve learned while doing TF cut and sew is that it’s very difficult to make clothes. And we’re doing one or two products at a time. I can’t even imagine the tenacity required to develop and grow the larger concept of a brand by continuously creating building blocks that are sellable, profitable, and interesting enough to cut through the noise.

It’s easy to lose sight of the real dogs out there when giant brands pay for coverage, hog the headlines with endless rumors about designer musical chairs (snooze), and mind-fuck you into thinking they matter. So, in doing whatever I can to tilt the playing field, I asked a few homies at small brands that I love if they could help direct our attention to some independent labels that are chipping away at greatness. Enjoy, and take notes!
