Nobody asked, but this is a selection of my favorite songs to play at parties, in BPM order from slowest to fastest, starting with the biggest New Zealand rap record of all time – because I took personal offense when Lawrence said there are no Kiwi rappers. And then a couple of songs your Mum likes to cry to when she's alone in her car but that actually HIT on a dance floor, like Be Without You by Mary J Blige and Don't Let Go by En Vogue; and dennnnnn Rick Ross because he's my favorite; Close to Me because it's my funeral song; A Thousand Miles because OBVIOUSLY; No Letting Go, Nasty Girl and All My Love because they make my heart go bazoooooonga; my two favorite Afrobeat records Mad Over You and Pon My Mind; a song that appeared on the Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack – The Promise; the one song that every fan of the oontz oontz loses their shit over – Love Tonight by Shouse; another New Zealand classic – How Bizarre; a criminally underrated emo Drake song – Summer Games; and then this random Australian song I just discovered called I Look Devastated that I've listened to 45 times in the last two days, you'll know why when you get to the chorus. Other notable songs include Seal's first smash hit Crazy, Conga by Gloria Estefan, Lifestyle, and World-A-Reggae – THEY CALL IT MURRRRRRRDA. And that's all I have to say about that. I LIKE YOU!
